Step by step

How to move your timers from NiftyImages to flashtimer

  1. List the timers you actually use

Go through your campaigns and flows and note each NiftyImages timer: its deadline, whether it starts on open, and whether it repeats. Leave personalized images, polls and other NiftyImages content where it is if you still use it.

  2. Recreate each timer

Describe the timer and Create with AI drafts it (Basic and up), or build it in the editor. Upload your brand font (Basic 1, Pro 10, Business 50 fonts) and set brand kit colors so it matches the old design.

  3. Swap the image URL and set the fallback

Replace the NiftyImages timer URL in each template and flow with the flashtimer embed, then add an expiry message or fallback image for readers who open after the deadline.

  4. Test across inboxes

Send tests to Gmail, Apple Mail and Outlook, and keep the old timer running until emails already delivered have passed their deadline.

Where NiftyImages is the better fit

NiftyImages covers far more than timers. Its pricing page lists personalized images, live weather and click tracking on Starter; polls, scratchers, social signals, charts and calendars on Growth; and rule sets, A/B split tests, critical messages and hosted data stores on Scale. Enterprise adds geo-targeted maps, external web APIs and a developer API. If your team personalizes many images per email, a platform built for that is the right tool.

Its timer builder is also flexible. NiftyImages' What's New page describes Timer Studio, a layered drag-and-drop canvas with animated effects and progress charts, and timers that can run from fixed start dates, Email Open triggers or Recurring schedules, plus a count-up mode added in May 2026.

NiftyImages vs flashtimer for countdown timers only

If countdown timers are the only NiftyImages feature you use, you are paying for a lot you don't need. NiftyImages' entry plan is $59 a month for 25,000 opens; flashtimer Basic is $9 a month for 150,000 views, and flashtimer's free plan includes 20,000 views a month with no card.

flashtimer goes deeper on the timer itself. Basic and up include evergreen countdown timers that start on open or on send, recurring timers, cycle and count-up timers, and an expiry message or fallback image. Pro adds dynamic timers that count to each reader's own date, an Apple Mail fallback, and promotion sync that turns Shopify discounts and WooCommerce coupons into timers.

The workflow differs too. Create with AI drafts a timer from a sentence on Basic and up, and Pro connects to 20 email platforms to insert it into a draft campaign or template. Timer labels come in several languages, or auto per reader.

NiftyImages pricing compared

NiftyImages prices by feature tier and by opens. Starter is $59, Growth $149 and Scale $239 a month, each shown at 25,000 opens, with a slider up to 500,000 and a 20% saving on annual billing. Enterprise is custom, billed annually. The pricing page does not define how an open is counted.

flashtimer's plans are $9 (150,000 views), $35 (1,000,000) and $69 (3,000,000) a month, and a view is one load of the timer image. A/B tests of timer designs are on Business at $69; on NiftyImages A/B split tests start with Scale.

Using both tools together

You don't have to choose one. Both serve images from a URL, so a NiftyImages personalized banner and a flashtimer countdown can sit in the same email. You can move only your timers to flashtimer, for example high-volume sale and cart timers, and keep NiftyImages for the personalization work it is built for.
