Step by step

How to switch from MailTimers to flashtimer

  1. Recreate the timer

Use Create with AI (Basic and up) to draft the timer from a sentence, or build it in the editor. A MailTimers Fixed Date timer becomes a fixed timer, Evergreen becomes evergreen, and a Cyclic timer becomes a recurring or cycle timer.

  2. Swap the embed code

Replace the MailTimers embed in each template and flow with the flashtimer image URL or HTML snippet. Choose your email platform in the Embed dialog so evergreen timers include its per-recipient merge tag, where the platform has one.

  3. Set the after-deadline view

Write an expiry message, or upload a fallback image (Basic and up), for readers who open after the deadline.

  4. Test and overlap

Send tests to Gmail, Apple Mail and Outlook, and keep the old timers live until emails already delivered have passed their deadline.

Where MailTimers is a good fit

MailTimers' free plan is one of the larger ones: its pricing page lists 100,000 views a month at no cost, with unlimited timers, full color customization and global CDN delivery. If you send fixed-date timers at volume and are fine with MailTimers branding, that allowance goes a long way.

It also covers the main timer types. The home page describes Fixed Date, Evergreen (counting from when the reader opens or from when the email was sent) and Cyclic timers that start over when they end, plus labels in 30+ languages, a how-to for right-to-left languages, and real-time impression analytics. Its how-to section has setup guides for about 20 platforms, from Mailchimp and Klaviyo to Omnisend and Mailjet.

MailTimers vs flashtimer: where flashtimer is different

flashtimer focuses on getting a timer made and placed faster. Create with AI drafts a timer from a one-line description on Basic and up, and on Pro flashtimer connects to 20 email platforms and inserts the timer into a draft campaign or template for you, where MailTimers describes copy-and-paste embed codes.

Pro also syncs promotions: Shopify discounts and WooCommerce coupons become timers whose end dates stay in step with the store. It adds dynamic timers that count to a date in each reader's email, a REST API and MCP server, and an Apple Mail fallback. Business plans can expire a timer when a Shopify, PrestaShop, Magento or Squarespace product sells out, and A/B test timer designs. We did not find an API, store sync or A/B testing on MailTimers' site.

For deadlines that repeat on the calendar, flashtimer's recurring countdown timers reset on a wall-clock rule in a time zone, such as every weekday at 2pm, alongside cycle timers that loop like MailTimers' Cyclic timer.

MailTimers pricing vs flashtimer

As shown to a US visitor in October 2026, MailTimers charges $9.95 (Startup, 150,000 views), $19.95 (Startup+, 450,000), $50 (Business, 1,200,000), $80 (Corporation, 3,600,000) and $200 (Holding, 10,000,000) a month, taxes included, with 20% off annually. Some features step up by plan: background pictures from Startup+, Photoshop timers and credit rollover from Business, and local time zone detection from Corporation.

flashtimer's plans are $9 (150,000 views), $35 (1,000,000) and $69 (3,000,000) a month, excluding VAT. MailTimers includes more views at some tiers and many more on Free; flashtimer includes evergreen, recurring, AI and a fallback image from Basic, and integrations, store sync and the API from Pro.

A free MailTimers alternative?

flashtimer's free plan is smaller on views (20,000 a month, 3 active timers) but includes fixed timers in every layout and labels in multiple languages, with copy-paste embeds that work in any email platform that shows images. Neither tool includes per-reader evergreen timers on its free plan, so for those you would compare MailTimers Startup with flashtimer Basic.
